家電鋼化玻璃：就是將普通退火玻璃先切割成家電要求的尺寸，然后加熱到接近軟化點的溫度，再進行快速均勻的冷卻而成。通常5-6MM的玻璃在700度高溫下加熱240秒左右，降溫150秒左右。8-10MM玻璃在700度高溫下加熱500秒左右，降溫300秒左右。總之，根據玻璃厚度不同，選擇加熱降溫的時間也不同。鋼化處理后玻璃表面形成均勻壓應力，而內部則形成張應力，使玻璃的抗彎和抗沖擊強度得以提高，其強度約是普通退火玻璃的四倍以上。已鋼化處理好的鋼化玻璃，如果受到超過其破壞強度的作用力，就會破壞成小顆粒狀，即“粉身碎骨”，所以是一種安全玻璃。
